The first phone you can see all the way to the right is a dead ringer for these OnLeaks renders. However, it does seem like it has a triple-lens camera in that real-life image, so the renders might be wrong about that. We’re going to assume that the prototype is just that: a prototype. If so, a dual-lens system on the rear is much more likely for a budget-minded device.
Whether this phone is called the OnePlus 8 Lite or not, it’s very clearly a less expensive device. It has a flat display rather than a curved one, seems to have two rear lenses instead of three or four, and larger display bezels. Unfortunately, OnePlus is still not bringing in a headphone jack, even though other companies did so with their cheaper devices, including Google and Huawei.
The One Plus 8 Lite is equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. It has a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The device has a pixel density of 411 PPl giving the user a sharp and clear visual experience. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone is powered by an octa-core processor and runs on Qualcomm snapdragon 730G chipset. It has a 6GB RAM enabling smooth and efficient multitasking and beyond. The operating system of the phone is Android 9.0 (pie).
One Plus 8 Lite has a dual-camera setup on its rear of 48MP and 5MP, while the front camera is of 16MP making the images captured of high quality. The camera supports continuous shooting and high dynamic range mode (HDRM).
The phone is powered by a powerful non-removable 4000 mAh battery and supports fast charging. The combination of which is translated into a long battery backup.
One Plus 8 Lite has a huge storage of 64GB but it cannot be expanded, which in some ways is compensated with the given number of internal memory space
It is equipped with dual sim (nano sims). The phone supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks along with Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, mobile hotspot, a Bluetooth version 5.0 making connectivity quite simple for the users. It has an on-screen fingerprint sensor along with a light sensor, proximity sensor, Accelerometer, compass and a gyroscope among its other features.
This would be the first time OnePlus launched a smartphone on Big Red. It’s theoretically possible that the OnePlus 8 could land on Verizon and the OnePlus 8 Pro could land at the current home for the company, T-Mobile. It’s also a good possibility that the OnePlus 8 Lite might not see a release in the US as the company might be focusing that on emerging markets such as India.
